Inevitably, working with the agencies for years, and being known for my semi-professional photography, I get asked to scout, and sometimes take some digital test shots of the models and talent. Of course, I always propose to take a few Polaroids (or other instant photos) of them, and they agree. Afterward, the models LOVE the unique-retro-modern-cool look of the Polaroid-instant film shots, and we select a few to include in their portfolio.
This project is the images selected by the talent, as well as outtakes and alternates which I liked, including some unexpected results from lighting (with/without flash, location lighting, light leaks, etc.), film (light sensitivity, variable quality, expired, etc.), camera (sticky rollers, other mechanical glitches or failures) or processing errors (from chemistry, heat, cool, etc.), and scanning aberrations (i.e.: Newton’s rings).
